Daimler Buses

Everything from a single source –
thanks to a strong partner network

The introduction of electromobility requires reliable technology, sound planning and smooth implementation. With Daimler Buses Solutions, customers have a contact person who can advise them competently on each of these topics. At the same time, we rely on reliable partners who are regarded as specialists in their fields.

In particular, they support us with the following technologies and tasks:

  • Loading equipment
  • Charging and load management solutions
  • Power supply
  • Construction (from planning to execution)
  • Hydrogen infrastructure
  • Battery storage

This means that our customers benefit from an extensive network of expertise, but always have a central point of contact. They take care of all project management - efficiently, clearly structured and customer-friendly.

Focus on partnership: SINOS charging management

As a software partner, SINOS plays a central role for Daimler Buses Solutions. The Regensburg-based enterprise offers numerous solutions that make the operation of electrified city bus fleets more efficient.

This includes the software for intelligent charging and load management, which monitors all charging processes and controls them cost-efficiently. It offers operators a wide range of advantages:

  • Cost-optimised charging with low load on the power grid
  • Longer battery service life thanks to gentle charging
  • Increased availability through charging planning and monitoring of charging interruptions
  • Preconditioning taking departure times into account

Thanks to a wide range of interfaces, the SINOS software can be used with all charging systems and for mixed fleets. Another advantage is communication with the OMNIplus ON Portal. The solution is also currently being developed into a depot management system. This allows operators to locate their buses at the depot and schedule them for their next assignment.

Numerous successfully implemented projects across Europe show that SINOS is a decisive building block for greater efficiency and reliability in electric local transport. Interested transport operators will find out in person how the software solutions can be seamlessly integrated into their existing infrastructure.

Kick-off in Hanover.

Stationary energy storage system consisting of used eCITARO batteries goes into operation.
The life cycle of a drive battery does not necessarily end after having been used in a vehicle. The GUW+ pilot project at Üstra Hannoversche Verkehrsbetriebe AG, to which Daimler Buses is a partner, demonstrates this. In this project, which was announced in 2021, battery systems from Mercedes-Benz eCitaro city buses are given a second life as stationary energy storage units. This innovative energy storage solution was developed and implemented by Mercedes-Benz Energy GmbH. The storage system at Üstra’s rectifier substation, which has now been put into operation in Hanover, provides a shared, simultaneous energy supply for the public transport operator's eCitaro electric buses and light rail.
